What is a watermark?


A watermark is a visual protection against illegal downloads. It is a mark applied to the images in your gallery to prevent your clients from obtaining your photos without paying for them.


It is removed from the digital files after the client makes the purchase.


How to set up a watermark?


Types of watermarks


You can configure text or image watermarks to protect your photos.


For each gallery, you can choose whether to use a watermark, which one, and whether to display it on thumbnails. You can also choose to apply it to the cover photo or not.


To do this, go to the menu Galleries > Watermarks.


Click the Add button and choose a name for your watermark. You can then choose between two types of watermark:


Watermark Type: Text


You can configure the following elements:


  • Text to display
  • Font
  • Size
  • Opacity
  • Position
  • Color
  • Background color
  • Outline

You can configure the following elements:


  • Upload an image
  • Size
  • Opacity
  • Tiling
  • Position


Image Watermark Configuration



To apply a watermark to a gallery, go to the desired gallery in the management interface. Once in the gallery settings, go to the 'Watermark' tab.

Select the watermark you previously configured and choose whether to display it on thumbnails. The watermark will be applied to all photos in the gallery.

If you want to exclude the watermark from the cover photo, go to [Appearance > Cover] and use the option to not apply the watermark to the cover.
