Difference between a sales catalog and a prospecting catalog
In Fotostudio, service catalogs can be configured for sales or prospecting, depending on your goal. Understanding the difference is essential to provide the right experience for your clients and manage your offers efficiently.
Sales Catalog
The sales catalog is designed to allow your clients to complete a booking or purchase directly. It offers several options:
- Book a session online: the client selects a session and a price, then is redirected to the corresponding calendar to choose the date and time. The contract and payment plan (deposit, full payment) are those defined by default for the session type. You can activate either the standard calendar or the mini-sessions calendar.
- Gift a voucher: you can decide if the session can be purchased for someone else. In this case, the session must be fully paid.
- Date-free sale: the client can purchase a service without selecting a date immediately. You can set a specific payment plan (deposit or full payment) and decide if a contract needs to be signed (which you can send later).
The sales catalog is ideal for allowing your clients to book or buy independently, while keeping control over payment conditions and contract signing.
Prospecting Catalog
The prospecting catalog is designed to collect leads rather than finalize a sale immediately.
- The client selects a service and optionally some options, then is redirected to a contact form.
- A new prospect record is created in Fotostudio, with a session record corresponding to the client’s selection.
- The booking is not finalized automatically. You can then send the contract, propose payment, or communicate with the client manually or via a workflow.
The prospecting catalog is ideal for introducing your offers to new clients, collecting leads, and later planning the booking or purchase.
