# How do I track my prospects with the sales pipeline?

The pipeline shows your prospects as cards, with **one column per status** (New, Email sent, To contact again…). At a glance, you can see where each request stands, and you move a prospect forward by dragging its card.

# Open the pipeline

Go to the [Contacts > Prospects](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/prospects) menu, then click `Pipeline` in the `List` / `Pipeline` switch at the top right.

Fotostudio remembers your last choice: next time, the **Prospects** menu opens straight on the view you used.

# Reading a card

Each card shows:

* the prospect's name;
* the type of shoot they're interested in (the **Interested in** field);
* the date of the planned shoot, if there is one;
* their next open task and its due date;
* how long they have been a prospect, and their source.

Within a column, the most recent prospects are at the top. The number of prospects in each status is shown next to its name.

# Changing a prospect's status

Drag the card into the column of the new status. You can also open the card and pick the **Status** from the list.

# The prospect window

Click a card to open the prospect window. It shows:

* their open **Tasks**: click a task to open it, or click `Add a task` to create one linked to this prospect;
* their planned shoot;
* their status, email, phone, what they're interested in, their source and the date they came in.

The buttons at the bottom let you `Open record`, `Send an email`, `Edit` the contact or `Delete` it. If they already have documents, they will be archived instead of deleted.

Tasks added here also appear on your task board ([Calendar > Tasks](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/tasks)).

# Managing the columns

The pipeline columns are your **prospect statuses**. You can manage them right from the pipeline:

* `Add a status`, on the far right, creates a new column;
* a column's menu (the three dots) lets you **Rename** or **Hide** it;
* the handle to the left of the name lets you change the order of the columns.

The **New** status receives new prospects (those from your contact forms, for example): its name cannot be changed.

A hidden column is still a valid status. To show it again, open the pipeline settings (gear icon at the top right), under **Hidden columns**, and click its name. The same menu also gives access to **Manage lead statuses**, which is the [Contacts > Settings > Prospect statuses](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/prospect_categories) page.

|| If some prospects have no status, a **No status** column appears first.

# Filtering the pipeline

The bar above the pipeline lets you:

* **Search for a lead** by name;
* filter by **Interested in** (type of shoot);
* filter by **Arrival date**: any date, this year, last year, the last 12 months, or between two dates of your choice;
* filter by **Source**.

The arrival date filter is also available in the `List` view.
