# How to create a quote or invoice without creating a shooting?

Do not hesitate to create shootings in Fotostudio, even if it's a shooting project for a prospect and it might not be confirmed. You can always archive this shooting or associate it with a specific status like "canceled" or "not concluded".

Shootings indeed offer many additional features, such as applying a payment plan, signing contracts, sending questionnaires, etc. It would be a shame to miss out on these.

However, you have the possibility to create a quote or invoice directly in a contact's file, in the _"Documents"_ tab. But this solution, according to us, should only be used in specific cases. For example, to give a quote to a former client who orders prints or others.

If you have created a quote from a contact and now wish to associate it with a shooting, you need to modify this quote via the `Actions > Edit` button. At the bottom of the quote editing page, you will find a _"Associated shooting"_ field.
