# How to create an online store to sell products

A **product/options catalog** can function as an **independent online store**.  

In Modules > Catalogs:

1. Create a new catalog with the `+ Add` button and choose **product catalog**  
2. Add one or more categories and for each, select the products to include  
3. You can share the catalog via its **public link**, which works like a real online store.

When a client places an order:  

* They enter their information to create a **payment request**.  
* Once the payment is completed, the request is **converted into an invoice**.  
* If the client already exists (same email), the invoice will be linked to them; otherwise, a **new client record** is created.  
* The order is not linked to a session record if it is placed via the independent online store.
