# How to invoice services with VAT

VAT is not applied automatically to your rates in the CRM or galleries. Therefore, you need to set the VAT rate yourself.

# CRM Settings

### Activate a tax in your billing settings

Here’s what to do to invoice services with VAT: on the [Accounting > Settings > Billing](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/invoices/settings) page, enter the name of the tax you want to apply and its value.

### Specify the VAT rate in your price templates

In the "[Shoots > Price](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/price_templates)s" or "[Modules > Prices](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/modules/price_templates)" menu, you can manually edit each created rate and set the tax for each one. Don’t forget to save each change.

# Gallery Settings

### Specify the VAT rate for your gallery rates

Finally, for galleries, go to the "[Shop > Catalog](https://gallery-admin.fotostudio.io/app/catalogs)" menu, edit each catalog, and in the top right of the catalog card you will find the "Edit" button, which allows you to define the tax for that catalog.
