Loyalty & referrals: complete use cases

Complete usage scenarios

To understand how the loyalty module works on a daily basis, here are some concrete examples you can follow step by step. Each scenario shows how points accumulate and how rewards are granted automatically or manually.

Scenario 1: classic loyal customer

Marie books a 75€ portrait session through your website.

  1. She pays the 75€ → she automatically receives 75 points (payment-based points).
  2. You complete the session and mark it as validated → she receives 50 additional points for the portrait session.
  3. Marie now has 125 points.
  4. The reward you set for 100 points is automatically triggered.
  5. Marie receives an email announcing her reward (e.g., a 10€ promo code).
  6. She can use this code for her next booking.

This scenario shows how a regular customer can accumulate points with no extra action from you, while being rewarded automatically.

Scenario 2: successful referral

Paul is already a customer with 350 points on his account.

  1. He shares his referral code PAUL-MARTIN with his sister Sophie.
  2. Sophie books a family session through the online form and enters the referral code.
  3. You validate Sophie's session:
  • Paul receives +30 points for the referral → reaching 380 points.
  • Sophie receives +10 welcome bonus points + 75 points for the payment + 75 points for the family session.

Sophie starts with 160 points and has already unlocked her first reward. This scenario illustrates how referrals reward both the referrer and the referred.

Scenario 3: manual commercial gesture

Julie encountered a technical issue during her order.

  1. To thank her and compensate for the incident, you manually add +50 points to her account with the description: "Commercial gesture due to incident".
  2. These points are added to her balance and can help unlock her next rewards.

This scenario shows how the module allows you to act manually to appreciate a customer and strengthen loyalty.

Scenario 4: long-term VIP customer

Thomas has been a customer for 2 years and participated in 8 sessions, spending a total of 2,400€.

  1. You activate the loyalty module and run an automatic recalculation for 12 months.
  2. Fotostudio automatically calculates:
  • 2,400 points for payments
  • 400 points for the 8 sessions (50 points per session)
  • Total: 2,800 points

  1. Thomas has now unlocked all rewards up to 1,000 points.
  2. You can personally contact him to thank him and offer special recognition.

This scenario illustrates how the module can reward VIP customers and automate recognition of their long-term loyalty.
