Shop: configure digital and physical products

Here’s what this article will cover:

To configure the physical or digital products included in your gallery, refer to the following article: Configure physical or digital products included in a gallery

MANAGING PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Categories help you organize your products to make it easier for clients to navigate their galleries. You can view, edit, and customize them in Shop > Product Categories.

Product Categories

  • When a client accesses a gallery, products are displayed by category, with default examples like Album, Frame, Print.
  • You can edit, delete, or create your own categories (e.g., "Luxury Products", "Standard Products"), to adapt the display to your sales logic.

The "Digital Photo" category is required for proper download functionality. It cannot be modified or deleted, as it allows clients to download their photos after purchase. ⚠️ If you create a product called "digital file" without assigning it to this category, downloads will not be enabled.

CREATING PRODUCTS

You can view and edit products in Shop > Products

CREATING A DIGITAL PRODUCT

A digital product allows your clients to download photo files after purchase.

  1. A base file is provided, which can be modified. You can add a new product or duplicate an existing one.
  2. Choose the Digital Photo category (mandatory for downloads).
  3. Specify whether the file will be available in high resolution (HD), low resolution (Web), or both.
  4. Set the price, either as a unit price or a "pack" price (see "Managing Prices")
  5. You can create a fixed price for the entire gallery in the digital product configuration or directly in each gallery. (For example, if you always sell the full gallery at the same price, configure it here and it will automatically apply to all galleries containing this product in the catalog.)

Digital Product Configuration

You can create multiple different digital products for your files (for example, if the price per file varies depending on the gallery, or if you want to sell Web and HD files at different prices).

CREATING A PHYSICAL PRODUCT

Physical products include prints, frames, albums, etc.

  1. Give your product a name
  2. Choose a category
  3. Select a supplier — this will automatically add shipping costs if configured. See the article on configuring shipping fees
  4. Specify the number of photos the client must choose for this product
  5. "Print Size" option: enable only if you allow the client to crop photos for this product
  6. Set a weight (optional, only if shipping fees depend on weight)
  7. Add a description and a preview image of the product

🏷️ Options and Pricing

At least one option must be created for each product, as it defines the product’s price.

You can add one or more option categories (e.g., paper type: glossy / matte).

For example, you can create a "print" product with an option for the client to choose the print size, and another option for the type of paper.

Set the price, either as a unit price or as a "pack" price (see "Managing Prices").

You can combine multiple options on a product; however, only the option from the first category determines the product price.

Example of Options

When selecting this product, the client can configure all options independently:

Client Configuration

Using options is not mandatory. If your product has no variants, you can simply use its name as the configuration. This is enough for the client to select it without extra steps.

MANAGING PRICES

For each product, physical or digital, you can set a unit price or a pack price, depending on how you want to offer it to clients.

Unit Price

Set the product price per unit. You must provide at least the line "1 and above".

You can also create tiered pricing based on quantity by clicking Add more. On the new line, specify the quantity threshold for the discounted price. You can add as many tiers as needed.

Example:

  • If the client selects 7 prints, they pay 7 x €20 = €140
  • If the client selects 13 prints, they pay 13 x €15 = €195

Unit Pricing

Pack Price

Choose the number of products in the pack and its price.

You can also create multiple packs by clicking Add more. On the new line, specify the number of products in the pack and its price. You can add as many options as needed.

You can allow additional products to be purchased outside the pack.

Example:

  • 10 prints = €120
  • 20 prints = €190
  • 13 prints = €120 + (3 x €15) = €165
  • 24 prints = €190 + (4 x €12) = €238
