# What are tags and how to create them?

# What tags are for

Tags are used to classify clients so you can easily find them in a file listing your contacts, exported from Fotostudio.

They also allow you to note a detail about a client.

# How to create a tag for a client

From a client's contact sheet, you can enter the tag text directly in the "Tags" field, and add it by clicking the "Enter" button on your computer keyboard. This is how to create a tag in the CRM.

# Where to find tags for all my contacts

In [Contacts > Settings > Tags](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/tags?locale=fr), you'll find the list of your existing tags, as well as the contacts associated with them.

On this page, you'll find:
* Statistics about your tag usage (your total number of tags, the number of contacts with a tag, whether you have unused tags, and the average number of tags per contact).

You can also edit a tag to rename it, or delete a tag you no longer wish to use.

| Deleting a tag does not delete the associated contacts.

# Export my contacts with a tag

When using the search from your [contacts list](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/contacts), you can choose to export contacts with only a specific tag, or by listing all tags.

The tags associated with your contacts will appear in the exported Excel file, allowing you to then create your own more elaborate filters.
