# What is self-promotion?

When one of your clients signs a contract online, before signing, we offer them a checkbox _"I authorize the photographer to use the photos for self-promotion (website, social networks, ...)"_.

If the client checks this box, they thereby authorize you to publish the photos.

You can disable this checkbox or change the text it displays in the menu [Settings > Modules > GDPR and Image Rights](https://www.fotostudio.io/app/RGPD).

This checkbox is linked to the _"Self-Promotion"_ section of each shooting file. If the client checks the box, it will display _"Yes"_. This gives you a quick indication of the authorization the client gives you.

You also have the option to manually click on the "Yes/No" button in the _"Self-Promotion"_ section of the shooting file.
