What is the difference between a connection and a contact?
From a contact's file, you have the ability to create connections (child, friend, spouse, witness, etc.) in the "Family / Close Ones" section.
A connection is not a contact. The connection you create in a contact file will only be available in that file, and cannot be used elsewhere (for example, be associated with a shoot). For that, you need to convert them into a contact by pressing the intended button.
The purpose of the "Connections" section is to allow you to create family ties without cluttering your contact database. Indeed, it does not create a contact file for the people added to this section.
By creating a connection, you have the option to enter their date of birth and to schedule the sending of a birthday email via the option "Send an automatic birthday email (to the main contact)".
