# What is the difference between a photo shoot and an appointment?

**Fotostudio primarily works with the use of shoots**, but you can also create appointments.

**A shoot** allows you to create a record with a date, a location, a payment plan, a workflow, a quote, invoices, a contract, etc.

**An appointment** does not create a record. You will add an appointment to your agenda with a date and a location, and you can automatically send a reminder email to your client 24 hours before the appointment.
