SumUp Integration
💳 SumUp Connection to Fotostudio
What is SumUp?
SumUp is a card payment solution for freelancers and small businesses. The connection with Fotostudio allows your clients to pay their invoices online via SumUp, just like you can offer payment through Stripe or other payment methods.
What the integration does
Once activated, the integration allows:
Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
Online payment | Your clients can pay their invoices online by credit card via SumUp |
Payment link | A SumUp payment link is automatically generated on relevant invoices |
Automatic confirmation | The invoice is marked as paid in Fotostudio as soon as payment is received |
How to connect SumUp
Step 1: Create an API key in SumUp
⚠️ The API key is displayed only once when created. Copy it immediately and keep it in a safe place (password manager, etc.).
- Log in to your account on me.sumup.com
- Click on your profile in the top right to expand it, then open Settings > Company settings
- Go to For developers → Toolkit
- Select API keys (the page displays the SumUp public key — don't use it for your integration)
- Click Create and give the key a name to recognize it later (for example:
Fotostudio) - Once the key is generated, copy or download it immediately — SumUp doesn't store it and won't be able to provide it again
Step 2: Configure SumUp in Fotostudio
- In Fotostudio, go to Modules > Online payments
- Click the Configure button next to SumUp
- Paste your API key in the designated field
- Click Test connection to verify the key is valid
- Enable payment and click Save
Security best practices
- Never share your API key in an email, chat, or code repository
- Rotate the key regularly: create a new one in SumUp, update it in Fotostudio, then revoke the old one
- Immediately revoke any key you suspect has been compromised from the SumUp interface (Settings → For developers → Toolkit → API keys)
- When in doubt, contact Fotostudio support
Frequently asked questions
I can't find the "For developers" option in SumUp.
This section is only available for active merchant accounts. Make sure you're logged in with an account that has access to the SumUp back office (not an employee account without admin rights). You can also go to SumUp's developer portal.
Can I use the SumUp public key?
No. The public key visible on the page is reserved for other uses. You must create a dedicated key via the Create button.
I lost my API key.
SumUp doesn't store generated keys: it's impossible to retrieve it. Go to Settings → For developers → Toolkit → API keys, revoke the old key and create a new one, then update it in Fotostudio.
The connection fails after entering my key.
Check that you've copied the entire key, without spaces or missing characters. If the problem persists, revoke the key and create a new one.
