Managing galleries on mobile

Gallery management is now designed to be used comfortably from a phone, while remaining accessible from a computer.

An admin adapted to mobile

The navigation and main screens have been redesigned to be easy to use on a small screen:

• A navigation bar at the bottom of the screen provides quick access to the main sections.
• The full menu opens in a drawer.
• The Back button lets you move up through the admin hierarchy, rather than returning to the previous page in the browser history.
• The lists of galleries, orders and invoices are displayed as cards, which are more readable on mobile. For galleries, the card also displays the cover photo.
• Photo management can be done directly with your finger: long press to select multiple photos, an adapted action bar and a photo panel accessible in a drawer.
• The Orders and Order detail pages have also been adapted for mobile use.
• Screens that require too much precision to be used properly on a phone remain reserved for computers for now. A "Available on computer" message lets you know that it isn’t a missing feature. These screens will be adapted gradually where possible.

Install the admin as an app

The Fotostudio admin is also a PWA (Progressive Web App).
In practice, it’s still the same site: there’s no need to download an app from the App Store or the Play Store. After several visits, your phone or computer may offer to install the admin.
Once installed:

• a Fotostudio icon appears on your home screen;
• the admin opens in full screen, without the browser address bar;
• it launches faster;
• no manual updates are needed.

How to install the admin?

After a certain number of visits, an installation prompt appears directly in the admin.
Just follow the displayed instructions to add Fotostudio to your home screen.

New versions are flagged automatically

Installing as a PWA also brings a new way of handling updates.
If a new version of Fotostudio is deployed while you already have the admin open, an alert "A new version is available" appears.
Click Refresh to switch immediately to the latest version.
You don’t need to clear your browser cache or reload the page several times to get the new features.
