What should I do if I encounter the "Preconditioncheck failed" error when configuring my Google address for sending emails?

This is normally an issue that's not related to Fotostudio, but to your Gmail account.

The error failedPrecondition: Precondition check failed with Gmail usually indicates a configuration or permissions issue with the Gmail account in question.

Here are the most common causes:

Less secure app access disabled

Your account may not allow third-party applications.

Two-factor authentication without app password

If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, you need to use a dedicated app password, not your regular Gmail password.

Gmail quota exceeded

You may have reached the daily sending limit:

  • 500 emails/day for a free Gmail account
  • or too many emails sent in a short time

Gmail account temporarily blocked

Google may temporarily block an account detected as suspicious.

IMAP/SMTP disabled in Gmail

You need to enable IMAP in Gmail settings:

Gmail Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP

What you can check:

  • App passwords:

Google Account > Security > 2-Step Verification > App passwords

  • Allow less secure apps

(only if two-factor authentication is not enabled)

  • Email sending quota

If the limit has been reached, you usually need to wait 24 hours.

  • IMAP/SMTP activation

in Gmail settings.
