How to use my professional email address for sending emails from Fotostudio (mail server or Google)?
"To fully benefit from Fotostudio's features, it is very important to configure your professional email address for sending emails.
In Fotostudio, we distinguish two email addresses for your account:
The email address in Settings > My Account > My Profile which is used to log into the account and to receive notifications from the software
The email address to configure for sending emails from the platform
If you do not configure anything, all emails sent from Fotostudio will be sent with our no-reply@fotostudio.io address. Your client will therefore receive an email with our address as the sender, which can be confusing. Moreover, our address sending a very large number of emails, we are more likely to experience sending problems.
Some mail providers such as Hotmail, Outlook, Orange, Yahoo... (non-exhaustive list) do not allow the configuration of their server. Therefore, we advise you to use a Google address or with your customized server.
Configuring a Google address (Gmail or with a domain name hosted at Google) is very simple. Just go to Settings > My Account > My Google Account and log in to your Google account.
Returning to the same place, you will find different options including "Yes, I wish to send emails from my Google account". Just check this option, and your Google address will be used for sending emails from Fotostudio.
If you wish to use your Google address for sending emails, you must not activate the "Use my own email server" option in Settings > Data > Email templates. This may cause sending problems.
To configure a mail server, go to Settings > Data > Email templates. In the right column, you will find the option "Use my own email server" to activate.
You will then need to enter your mail server settings:
Server / Host: corresponds to the SMTP (sending) server of your mail host
Email: the email address to configure
Password: the password that corresponds to this email address
Once saved, we advise you to do a test send from Fotostudio.
If the sender is your address, you've succeeded! 🎉 If the sender is still our address, it means that your settings are not correct.
