What should I do if my email is marked as received, but isn't in my client's spam folder?

Your client says they haven't received your email even though Fotostudio shows it as Received?

The "received" status shown by Fotostudio means that the email has been successfully accepted by the recipient's mail server.

However, this does not guarantee that it will be visible in your client's main inbox.

It may, for example, have been:

  • Redirected to spam or junk mail
  • Filtered by a security system (e.g., Microsoft 365, Gmail, etc.)
  • Automatically sorted into a secondary inbox ("Promotions", "Notifications" tabs, etc.)
  • Blocked without an apparent error message (some systems don't send back bounces)

Unfortunately, it's thus very difficult to know if an email has truly reached the recipient's inbox.

What can I do?

Email delivery depends on the recipient's email provider. However, we suggest you:

  • Ask your client to check their Spam or Promotions folder
  • Add the sender address to their contacts
  • Ask your client to add your email to their contacts
  • And possibly, use another communication method to confirm proper receipt

Email deliverability is based on a score. Elements like the email subject can penalize your email's score if the content appears suspicious.

Example: "thank you for your inquiry" → may seem suspicious to a spam filter. You can personalize the email subject with the person's first name, or modify it to appear as least "suspicious" as possible.

Tools like Mail Tester can help you test your email deliverability.
