Configure your professional email address for sending emails
To make the most of Fotostudio's features, it's crucial to set up your professional email address for sending emails.
In Fotostudio, we differentiate between two email addresses for your account:
The email address in Settings > My Account > My Profile which is used for logging into the account and receiving software notifications.
The email address to set up for sending emails from the platform.
If you don't set anything up, all emails sent from Fotostudio will be dispatched with our no-reply@fotostudio.io address. Thus, your client will receive an email with our address as the sender, which can be confusing. Additionally, since our address sends a vast number of emails, we are more likely to face delivery issues.
Setting up a Google address (Gmail or with a domain hosted by Google) is very straightforward. Simply go to Settings > My Account > My Google account and log into your Google account.
Going back to the same place, you'll find various options, including "Yes, I want to send emails from my Google account". Just tick this option, and your Google address will be used to send emails from Fotostudio.
If you wish to use your Google address for sending emails, you shouldn't activate the "Use my own email server" option in Settings > Data > Email templates. This might cause sending issues.
To set up an email server, navigate to Settings > Data > Email templates. On the right column, you'll find the "Use my own email server" option to activate.
Next, you'll need to input your mail server's settings:
Server/Host: corresponds to your email host's SMTP (outgoing) server.
Email: the email address to set up.
Password: the password associated with this email address.
Once saved, we recommend testing a send from Fotostudio.
If the sender is your address, you've succeeded! 🎉 If the sender remains our address, it implies your settings aren't accurate.
If you're unsure about your settings, don't hesitate to contact the support team via the chat at the bottom right to get help.
